February average temperatures:

In Sydney (which is next to the ocean) and Springwood (which is in the "mountains"): 60 - 79 F
In Penrith (which is at the base of the "mountains"): 64 - 86 F
In Australia everyone uses celsius but we converted them for you.

Useful tips:

​

- Remember, no need to tip for anything in Australia (that goes for everything - taxis, restaurants etc.)

​

- Uber exists in Sydney, but regular taxis are also very much still used. 

- You don't need a car to get around Sydney city, and we're making sure you can get to and from the wedding without a car, but if you're looking at adventures more than 90 minutes out of the Sydney CBD (CBD = Central Business District, which basically means the downtown area) a car would be useful. 

 

Fun tips:

- You can ask your Alexa to use an Australian accent to get you acclimatized :)

- If we were going to recommend watching one Aussie film before you go, it's "The Castle", which you can watch on Amazon or Apple TV. It's Aaron's favorite Aussie movie. It's a comedy, and while it's not the kind of film you watch to see where you are going (it's mostly set in suburbia) it will educate you on important phrases like "this is going straight to the pool room" and "everyone makes rissoles darl"

- Lemonade is Sprite. A "Lemon Squash" is carbonated lemonade.
- Hamburgers are always well done
- Fries are chips. Chips are chips. (I KNOW, we cannot explain it).
